In June of 2012, we moved from beautiful Beacon, NY to College Station, TX.
Why on earth did we move here? To go back to school, me for a PhD in Architecture, focusing on therapeutic gardens through the Center for Health Systems and Design. I can't say the transition has been easy so far. As people say, "Texas is different." I can say that I miss Beacon - the landscape, the amazing community, and so many of the dear friends we made during our seven years there.
I was considering starting a blog here called "In the Belly of the Beast," but if I never had enough time for "A Year (or two, or three...) in Beacon," then I sure won't while pursuing a PhD!
